Charles James "Charlie" Haughey (16 September 1925 – 13 June 2006) was Taoiseach of Ireland, serving three terms in office (from December 1979 to June 1981, March 1982 to December 1982, and March 1987 to February 1992).

Early lifeEdit

He was born in Castlebar, County Mayo in 1925.

DeathEdit

He died from prostate cancer, which he had suffered from for a decade, on 13 June 2006, at his home. Haughey received a state funeral on 16 June 2006. He was buried in St. Fintan's Cemetery, Sutton in County Dublin.
